RaiseCapital.com allows its users to post digital images to enhance the presentation of the user’s venture to investors on the site. Yet less than half of all users currently have digital images accompanying their posts. As the old advertising adage goes “a picture is worth a thousand words”. A 2006 Boston University School of Medicine study found that the power of pictures is directly related to enhanced recollection especially when compared to the use of words alone. In the field of cognitive psychology it is well established that pictures provide for higher memory retention than strictly words. Meaningful words combined with pictures provide for even higher memory retention. No matter how finely crafted your written pitch is, it cannot replace the immediacy and impact of an image. If you do not have the equipment to post images, make that small investment. For less than $50, users can purchase a digital camera and enhance the effectiveness and impact of their post.
RaiseCapital.com also allows its users to post a video presentation marketing their venture at no cost. Yet, only about 1 in 7 users avail themselves of this feature. While certain ventures do not warrant a video presentation, most ventures do. As stated, the posting of a video greatly enhances your chances of being noticed.
All you need to do is purchase a webcam, which can cost as little as twenty dollars, upload the video on your desktop and then add it to your post. With a little creativity and effort you can turn an ordinary post into something that is exponentially more likely to be noticed.
4 Comment(s)the sad thing is most investors only want to see the executive summary, financial section-without looking at the product. its my opinion that a good product modeling is imparitive to start with,it keeps focus on your development for where you want to go-or be with your product.
It is my concern that for some inventions or ideas that posting photos and videos would give too much of away for the first showing that could be stolen. Instead, photos and videos should be reserved for interested investors in a private setting.
With such a tough economy, I am surprised so many people are asking for such high start up funds. It makes me question how many people are legit on here, and not here to just rip off private investors. I'm an at home mom with something to work hard for -- my family! I will do whatever it takes to succeed for them. I am looking to start a home-based and on-location children's photography business. As a social mom, I already have tons of customers waiting! My business has a very low start up cost of only $5,000. I want to do everything digitally so that moms can have edited pictures of their kids the same day! Also, a unique feature of my business is shared rights to the photos so that they can have the photos printed themselves wherever they choose.
